Data Engineer
We’re looking for a Data Engineer who wants to build reliable, production-grade data platforms across diverse client environments.
We are looking for new professionals to join Pareto's journey
Pareto is a growing software company built around experienced professionals and a sharp focus on what delivers results.
We currently have over 50 senior software professionals on our team, and we’re hiring more this year. We’re looking for a Data Engineer who wants to build reliable, production-grade data platforms across diverse client environments.
What will you do?
You will work on our clients’ data platforms, typically as a data engineer, occasionally as a data architect or technical lead when the project calls for it. We deliver full projects and integrate into our clients’ teams.
Projects span industries like technology, manufacturing, defense, process industry, energy, logistics, food production, healthcare, and the public sector. The common factor: organizations with growing data volumes that need structure, quality, and pipelines they can rely on.
Your work will focus on designing and building end-to-end data pipelines from source systems to cloud platforms. You’ll model curated datasets for analytics and AI consumption, implement data quality checks and monitoring, and collaborate closely with platform engineers on security and deployment.
You’ll have direct influence on client projects, architecture decisions, and engineering practices.
What we expect
At least 5 years of experience in data engineering. You know how to build pipelines that run in production, not just in notebooks.
Strong SQL skills and solid data modeling fundamentals: facts, dimensions, grain. Experience building production data pipelines, batch and/or micro-batch.
Hands-on experience with a cloud data warehouse or lakehouse such as Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, BigQuery, or Synapse. Ability to write maintainable Python or PySpark code for data processing.
Understanding of incremental processing, late-arriving data, and safe reprocessing.
Ability to work with clients. You can communicate technical decisions in business terms and adapt to different organizational contexts.
Experience with medallion architecture patterns, time-series or industrial process data, Delta Lake or similar transactional lake formats, and data quality frameworks is valued. So is exposure to AI or LLM-based analytics on structured data.
What we offer
Salary based on your experience: 4500–6500 EUR/month.
Comprehensive benefits: extensive occupational healthcare, leisure-time accident and travel insurance, lunch benefit, recreation benefit, phone and internet allowances, and work tools of your choice.
A team of experienced professionals who care about the quality of what they build. You'll work alongside senior engineers solving real problems with some of Finland's most demanding organizations.
We're an informal, close-knit community where people back each other up. We organize activities and events based on what the team wants to do.
A large part of your waking hours is spent at work, and we believe you should be able to be yourself and enjoy what you do. Flat hierarchy, low bureaucracy, focus on what matters.
